As a 4th generation Camano Islander, Don Hopkins and his wife Nancy, decided to stay close to home and start a family within the beautiful landscape of Camano Island, Washington. With the help of their two sons and daughter, the company DG Hopkins Painting, has grown to become a staple in the house painting business within the booming society based in Camano Island, Washington.

Don is one of four brothers, born and raised on the western coast of the Island. He's had a very adventurous life as an EMT, firefighter, plane loader/deliverer, and last but not least---house painter, living in both Alaska and Camano Island.

Nancy was born and raised in San Francisco, California, and came here after her mother pursued a job in nursing. Back then, the Stanwood/Camano area was just a speckle on the map--not much more than a slowly developed landscape, hidden away amongst the trees in the beautiful Pacific North West. Little did she know that the community that had been here long before her, would be so driven, passionate, and kind.

After the two met and decided to raise a family, they decided to continue with Don's current affairs as a house painter, opening two large shops on the property, and starting the household name Island Custom Pre-Finishing within them. This new company would allow for the two to pre-finish all forms of furniture, soffits, beams, and so much more, expanding the company to a wide new vision--make everything just a bit more beautiful.
